Self-Management And Recovery Training (SMART) is a global community of mutual support groups. At meetings, participants help one another resolve problems with any addiction to drugs, alcohol, or to activities such as gambling or over-eating.
In 2018, the organization needed a centralized infrastructure to standardize internal processes, documentation, analysis, and IT services. Its databases were managed in Excel and Access and the website lacked certain technical capabilities.
Transom worked to standardize processes and consolidate all IT services (stabilize infrastructure, support, and website services)
Transom’s team developed and implemented Smart Information System, to make it possible to centralize improvement plans, process support, control of incidents through the Incident Management tool, and improve the rehabilitation and self-help courses attendance certification with the Verification App.
Over time, Transom has helped Smart to host and manage their website, improve and protect against cyber-security threats, establish roles and access for central office utilization and supply enhanced tools and applications for online training and volunteer management, among others.
Smart’s improved information technology platform has reduced costs, time, and efforts with its internal centralized management system. Resulting in increased attendance at self-help and rehabilitation meetings—allowing Smart to better serve its mission of positive sustainable outcomes in the fight against addiction for its participants and their families.
